Are my notes saved automatically?

Yes. Every keystroke is saved automatically to your browser's local storage within a moment — you will see a Saved indicator in the status bar. No account and no save button needed.

Where are my notes stored? Are they private?

Accepted Answer

Your notes are stored only on your own device inside the browser. Nothing is uploaded to any server, so your notes are as private as your device. Clearing browser data will delete them, so use the Export Backup button regularly.

Can I recover a deleted note?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Deleted notes move to Trash instead of disappearing. Open the Trash view to restore or permanently remove them.

How do I back up or move my notes to another device?

Accepted Answer

Open the menu and choose Export Backup to download a .json file of all notes. On another device, open the same menu, choose Import Backup and select that file to restore everything.

Does the notebook work offline?

Yes. Once the page has loaded, writing, editing, searching and deleting notes all work without an internet connection because everything runs locally in your browser.
